Detox Water (Lemon, Lime, Cucumber, and Mint Water)

I have started eating very healthy and have cut out all sugar and soda drinks. I get very tired of drinking just plain water, so I have found this recipe to share (plus it also acts as a detox water to remove all of the toxins and impurities from your body.

What is so special about this lemon-lime-cucumber-mint combination is that it cleanses, helps in digestion, and re-hydrates your body.

Lemon, Lime, Cucumber, and Mint Detox Water

1 Gallon Sized Pitcher

2 Limes

1 Lemon

10 Mint Leaves

1 Small Cucumber ( I used half a cucumber because mine are so big)

Water

Make sure to rinse the lemon, limes, and cucumber very well before cutting. Slice very thinly and add the lemon, limes, cucumber and mint leaves to the gallon sized pitcher.  Add around 12 cups of water (enough to finish filling your pitcher) and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.

Pour in a large glass over ice and enjoy!

I was wondering if you can reuse the fruit for another gallon

    • Sadly, no. It starts getting mushy a day after it has set in the water.

I have lost a few pounds drinking this water. This is the only water that I drink. I use the fruit at least three times with fresh water. Also I peel the skin off the cucumber. I use about three sprigs of mint leaves. I feel great drinking this water. I recommend that this is your first water in the am. Makes me feel good starting off the day!

  6. Do you eat normally or fast while drinking ? Thanks

  7. do you use cold or hot water when preparing the detox

  13. I STARTED THE DRINK TODAY AND I PUT A HALF OF A LARGE CUCUMMBER IN AND ONLY ONE LEMON AND LIME. I FIND THE CUCUMMBER MAKES IT TASTE A LITTLE BITTER. DOES IT HAVE TO BE PUT IN WITH THE OUTSIDE SKIN ON? I STARTED LATE IN THE DAY SO ONLY HAVE IS GONE SO MY FIRST FULL DAY WILL BE TOMORROW. SURE HOPE IT WORKS.

  14. I just made this on a small scale using 64 oz, I cut the cuke to 1/4 and the orange to 1/4 half lemon and lime and about 5 or 6 mint leaves. It tastes great, can’t wait to see what will happen.

Hi, Michelle or anyonewho can answer ASAP… What happens when you pour some water in a glass? I mean, doesn’t all the fruit pieces end up in your glass? Do you eat these as well as drink the water? Please respond. I want to try this, but needed this question answered. Thank you.

    • If you use a pitcher like the one pictures, no it doesn’t end up in your glass. Since the fruit only sits in there a day it doesn’t get all mushy to the point it could get through the slits. If you use something other than a pitcher or something that has a wide mouth on it I am really not sure.
